Since its debut in 1966, the early FG series, commonly known as the "Red Label," continues to be spoken of as a legendary instrument even after more than 45 years. "The FG" was created by inheriting its basic design and incorporating all of Yamaha's extensive know-how in guitar making and the latest technology.

The model we have in stock this time is a 2002 "The FG".
It inherits the basic design of Yamaha's legendary red label "FG-180" and was crafted by bringing together the woodworking and finishing techniques of that era. It features an all-solid-wood construction.

The top is made of solid spruce, while the sides and back are solid mahogany. It also features original open-gear type tuning pegs, delivering a rich resonance.

The remarkably lightweight all-solid body, befitting the series' flagship model, is at hand guitar standards. Once you play it, you'll be overwhelmed by the responsiveness of its tone. From wood binding to every detail of the parts, the meticulous craftsmanship reveals its true value the more you use it.
This is the standard of Japanese-made folk guitars.
