Diviser, a guitar workshop in Nagano known for brands such as Bacchus and Headway. Among them, "momose" is a brand that focuses on traditional models.

The model we received this time is a Jazz Bass type with a 4-digit serial number "4958". It weighs 4.67kg and is characterized by a burnt-in head logo, which is typical of early production models.

Since there is no spec sheet or similar documentation, details about the wood and other materials are unknown. However, it delivers a sound with a strong presence in the mid-low frequency range. Crafted and assembled to the highest standards in Japan, it inherits the basic structure and philosophy of vintage instruments while elevating sound quality and playability to a high level.

The neck shape fits comfortably for Japanese players and enables smooth fingering. The truss rod adjuster is positioned at the neck end for easy access, allowing simple adjustments as needed for environmental changes and regular maintenance.

The pickups and wiring appear to be original. By pulling the tone knob, you can obtain a pseudo hum sound with increased mid-low thickness. This appears to be due to the front/rear pickups switching to a series circuit. The fingerboard is 21F specification, and the bridge and tuning pegs are likely GOTOH brand, with careful attention to detail in parts such as CTS pots.

This is a great bass—it sounds really good. The substantial weight of the body produces what is undoubtedly a solid, thick, classic JB sound. A single instrument that fully showcases the excellent craftsmanship and unique appeal of domestically-produced basses, created by skilled artisans!
