The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), also known as Tōkyō Firuhāmonī Kōkyō Gakudan and Imperial Philharmonic Orchestra Of Tokyo, is one of the oldest Japanese orchestras, established in Nagoya circa 1911. Since 1938, TPO is based in Tokyo. The orchestra merged with Japan Shinsei Symphony Orchestra.
